Togendowagan Society
The Togendowagan Society is an inter-tribal Native American Spirit Society, composed of both Native and non-Native traditions and people, journeying together toward the Creator. We meet at St. Peter’s on the second and fourth Saturdays of October through May at 5:30 for Prayer Circle and Holy Eucharist, followed by a community meal.

A journey toward the Creator
Lenape for “Wakening,” Togendowagan means “coming-into-awareness.” The Society’s bi-monthly services at St. Peter’s align with seasonal cycles and significant times in both the Native American and Liturgical calendars.
By including both Native and non-Native traditions and individuals, the Society provides a space for cultural exchange and spiritual growth, blending traditions in a respectful and inclusive way.

Gathered in prayer, worship, and community
Togendowagan gatherings at St. Peter’s include Prayer Circle and Holy Eucharist, followed by a community meal. These gatherings create space for worship, reflection, and connection among people from different traditions and backgrounds.
The rhythm of the Society’s gatherings reflects a deep respect for both Native American and Christian liturgical traditions, offering a meaningful place of belonging and spiritual growth.
